3D-Coaching/ Soul Work FAQ’s:

What kinds of results can we expect?

We all know what it's like to feel stuck. So often our willpower isn't enough to overcome our destructive emotional reactions. The 3D method (with the Splankna institute) pioneered a way to get straight to the root cause of emotions and unlock them at the sub-atomic level. The conscious mind does not choose negative symptoms. Something deeper does. In Romans 7, Paul describes how “the very thing I want to do, I don't do. And the very thing I don't want to do, is the thing I do.” His language for these two opposing seats of the will is “the spirit man” and “the flesh.” 3-D work is a way to bring the body and soul into agreement with what the spirit man is choosing; Life. Life in all its forms… Strength, joy, freedom. Through 3-D work, God releases people from all sorts of emotional symptoms and sometimes physical issues too, if they are emotionally rooted.

How does it work?

3-D Splankna work combines body, soul, and spirit in concert to resolve emotional trauma. When all three elements of the person are working together, the change is deep and lasting. Splankna Training Institute designed this protocol to help get to the origin of an emotional issue with the goal of rapidly desensitizing the emotional stress connected to a past event.  Splankna attends to the way our bodies store emotions. A simple combination of “touch and thought” allows the body to release these stored emotions, thus attending to the body and soul. When the stored trauma emotions behind a symptom are relieved, the client can better understand and remove the destructive vows and lies associated with those traumas. Through Biblical elements of confession, repentance, and the authority of Jesus, we “break agreement” with symptoms on a foundational level and things change. This process addresses all 3 dimensions of a person: Body, Soul, and Spirit. (3-D)

What is Splankna?

Splankna is a Biblically based, mind-body protocol for inner healing.

Why the name?

“Splankna” is the first century Greek term for “bowels” or "guts." In New Testament times, poetry and literature, the term was used the way we use the word “subconscious” today…like a “gut sense,” or “deep knowing.” Splankna work taps into the “deep,” subconscious root of symptoms.

Is this “energy work?”

Yes. Splankna is a form of energy work. The word “energy” is a physics term for the undefined cause of subatomic motion. The study of the energetic level of creation is called subatomic or quantum physics. This theoretical energy/frequency level explores how thoughts have substance and impact like frequencies. It has sometimes been distorted and thought of in new age terms.  (Recall, when God made creation, it was “good,” and any distortion does not destroy God’s own good purposes.) The body is known to hold emotions as memories that have content on a chemical and sub-atomic level. 3-D Splankna work clears trauma emotions out of the body with the combination of touch and thought. We then help people identify the destructive lies and vows associated with traumas and clear them out in prayer.

What is muscle testing?

Muscle testing is based on the theory that any major muscle will respond to electrical shifts that go off in the body. (you may have experienced this theory in application with a physical therapist, a Chiropractor, or a massage therapist.) This applies in the case of testing for misalignments in the body physically, as well as emotionally. So, when I ask a question, my meaning passes between us via the energy in our bodies, and it hits your body as a “match” or “mismatch” (weak vs. strong). When your body responds with congruence to an idea, it shifts your electrical system and that shift shows up in the muscle. For instance, if I asked whether the root emotion around a particular trauma is “anger,” if your own subconscious database is congruent with that idea, the muscle will respond as well. Since the body naturally responds to ideas this way, a muscle test can be used as a simple yes/no tool. There are several things that can cause a muscle to react, and truth is just one of them, so you always have to take a muscle test with a grain of salt. Muscle testing is not a perfect tool, but still a useful one as long as it is within safe boundaries and led by the Holy Spirit.

What makes it Christian?

Splankna 3-D therapy is unique in that it is deeply rooted in prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit and invites God to search through all the stored emotional content of a person’s personal history to address the root of symptoms. We may not always know the original causes of our emotional struggles, but God does. And he’s willing and able to heal. It’s by the Name and authority of Jesus that clients break agreement with significant lies and vows that were adopted in a trauma root. Splankna’s 3-D protocol is an unusually direct way to partner with God in real time and experience him working in your heart. [It is not necessary to call yourself a Christian for this method to work, only to  be willing to explore the possibility that God exists, and may be willing to instigate a relationship with you.]

Isn’t this a New Age theory?

New age philosophy is grounded on the idea that “all is one” and that human beings have all potential within themselves, which makes them divine. Splankna institute completely rejects these ideas because they are unbiblical. The concept that all is one rather than just interconnected attempts to remove the personhood, the hierarchy and sovereignty of God, but Splankna gratefully acknowledges all three. Human beings are dependent creatures under God's sovereignty. 3-D Splankna work depends entirely on the Father's wisdom, power and will rather than on human potential.

It is important to remember that while God sustains all things, even at the sub-atomic level, he could never be defined as energy, any more than he could be accurately described as “the force.” He organizes, animates, and sustains all things down to the smallest level, but he also remains distinct from his creation. He is a God of personhood.

Who developed this?

Sarah J. Thiessen. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a licensed professional counselor. She got her degree from Abilene Christian University in Texas. She grew up in Church of Christ. She began developing the Splankna protocol in 1997 and has since founded the Splankna Institute. She lives in Denver with her husband and three children.

Integrative Health coaching FAQ

Integrating 3 DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH: BODY, SOUL, and SPIRIT

Q. What is integrative health coaching?

A.

Health Coaching, integrative nutrition, and whole person health are relatively new concepts. This system of health management revolves around the idea of getting to the root cause of processes in the body rather than just treating symptoms. The goal is to restore or recover health. We can support the systems that need help and in turn the body can heal itself effectively.

Integrative health coaching works with you to investigate underlying causes of symptoms like anxiety, stress, and a variety of health issues... Humans are complex creatures. We have hundreds of smaller systems that must synchronize and work together to keep you healthy.

I help you design a multi layered approach to support you in creating a healing environment so your body soul and spirit can work together optimally.

Q. What does a typical coaching process consist of?

A:

  • Lifestyle Recommendations: Health results will be 70 to 80% based upon your lifestyle habits. Factors like sleep hygiene, stress management, managing exposure to toxins, light exposure and meditation and exercise plans when implemented specifically for your unique bio-individuality can make a huge difference. Learning these things can empower you to be healthy for life!

  • Goal setting and implementation: dramatic transformation comes as we work together to troubleshoot any roadblocks on your road to Wellness.

  • Unresolved or negative thinking patterns are huge hindrances to a healthy lifestyle. I have many classes and exercises to creatively address things you thought you had to just live with! 1:1 Inner Healing/ Soul work is very effective, and HIGHLY recommended!

  • Nutrition plan: based on your health history and symptoms integrative nutrition can help you customize dietary and supplement recommendations to help start the healing process.

  • Recommend specific testing: I can identify specific tests that can help you clarify underlying root causes like:

o  thyroid function

o   Sex hormones

o   Gut infections

o   Food sensitivities

o   Neurotransmitter function

  • I will help you understand lab results and tweak your customized nutrition and lifestyle plans along with individualized supplements to minimize physical issues in the body.

Q. What does a typical coaching appointment look like?

A:

You are in control of your experience. Virtual appointments, group coaching options, or face to face appointments are available. With the increasingly high demands in our lives, it may be more convenient to jump on a video chat in the comfort of your own home, or convenience of your down time schedule.

Q: How will I know whether we will be a good fit to work together?

A:

Check out my website. This is how you can become familiar with my personality and philosophy even before we meet. Read my stories, testimonials, and discover what it's like working with me one on one or in a group. You can read my content, watch videos, and get a good feel for my perspective and strategies. You really will want to work with a coach that shares similar values as you do. See if the blogs, and videos resonate with you, and you’ll know if we connect.

I offer a free intro call to discuss how my plan works. This short introductory call can go a long way. It is a great opportunity to figure out if we are a good fit to work together, and if my program will work for your needs. When it comes time to order lab tests, and do Functional assessments, we can get started within a week to put together a customized game plan!

Q: What types of protocols will you consider as we look at a customized approach for my situation?

A:

  • Partnering together based on evidence-based interventions and teaching to engineer a unique health protocol.

  • Inner healing of memories, inner vows, and “muscle memory” from traumas play a huge role in how effectively our bodies are able to function. Everyone has had stressors, events and history of unresolved/ under resolved conflicts. There are gentle, non-threatening ways to re-align your thoughts with better perspectives about past events that get triggered, and drive us to “play scripts” that are not healthy. (See 3-D FAQ’s above for more info)

  • Nutrition and everyday lifestyle choices are your foundation, so we start there. Some alternative treatments work and some don't. So, we build with the basics first. I have access to referrals within the community if other treatments are recommended.

  • Combine nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle skills to develop a customized plan for overall health.

  • Familiar with elimination diet, leaky gut diet, ketogenic diets, blood type diets and others. Determining what diet is right for you may take a process.

  • Recommend specific lab testing and targeted assessments to help determine the root cause of health issues

Q: What experience and credentials do you have?

A:

Reputable credentials and testimonial results: unlike traditional health practitioners, integrative health coaching is not learned in a public institution. Several private certifications are available within the integrated health framework. Having certifications from multiple different institutions as well as real life testimonials should speak for themselves. (check out some testimonials on my website from real clients)

Q: What are your success rates? How can I be sure your process will work for me?

A:

Bio-individuality: not everyone is the same, and not everyone responds the same way to the same protocols. Interestingly enough, what works really well for one person might not work at all, or even cause a negative reaction to a different individual. My experience helps to identify your individual needs and maximize opportunities for success.

About 80% of my clients are able to tell a marked improvement within the first 6 weeks series of appointments. This of course depends on the individual, their needs, and how effective the client is at implementing recommendations. The other 20% tend to have slower results for a variety of reasons, most often because of more serious health conditions underlying their ability to have a healthy lifestyle.

Typically it takes about 6 months to address the full range of issues at play in a lifestyle of thriving. Most people will need more than 6 months to effectively implement lasting change, and I offer several options as to how to go about this.

No quick fix gimmicks: no over reliance on supplements or radical therapies. There are no magic bullets, but with time and persistence, making the right changes can help move you from surviving to thriving! In the same way that you are not just one single aspect of your personality, no single diet, food or supplement approach will work for whole person health. A person's journey to health must have multiple therapies and take time to implement for lasting transformation.
